{"id":267512,"date":"2026-08-18T13:22:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T13:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/267512\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T13:22:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T13:22:07","slug":"man-arrested-in-nyc-in-connection-with-fatal-shooting-in-west-scranton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/267512\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested in NYC in connection with fatal shooting in West Scranton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police in New York City arrested man in connection with a shooting death in West Scranton on July 17, according to Scranton police.<\/p>\n<p>Ricardo Nunez-Cruz, 21, is charged with felony criminal homicide, aggravated assault, hindering apprehension or prosecution and recklessly endangering another person.<\/p>\n<p>Nunez-Cruz shot Clinton Thornton-Hill once in the abdomen at a residence at 313 N. Hyde Park Ave., police said.<\/p>\n<p>Thornton-Hill was taken to the emergency room at Geisinger Community Medical Center after he was found unconscious, at about 7 p.m. He died around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland said.<\/p>\n<p>Nunez-Cruz was apprehended with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force.
