The Scranton Rural Fire Department was among six Arkansas volunteer fire departments that received a $10,000 grant from the State Farm Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The program awarded $10,000 to 150 volunteer fire departments across the country to improve firefighter and EMS safety equipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n Leslie Volunteer Fire Department, South Bend Fire District #10, Wrightsville Volunteer Fire, Hwy 15 S Vol Fire Department, and Bodcaw Volunteer Fire Department were the other five departments in Arkansas that received the grant.<\/p>\n State Farm began its Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program in 2024 and has supported 400 volunteer departments to date.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Scranton Rural Fire Department responded to six emergency medical calls and five fire calls, including two that assisted neighboring departments, in July.
