{"id":267844,"date":"2026-08-19T00:32:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T00:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/267844\/"},"modified":"2026-08-19T00:32:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T00:32:07","slug":"man-accused-of-brazen-sexual-assault-on-pittsburghs-south-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/267844\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of brazen sexual assault on Pittsburgh\u2019s South Side"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH  \u2014 Surveillance video is proving to be the key piece of evidence for Pittsburgh Police as they are investigating the rape of a woman after a night out on East Carson Street. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Investigators are looking for Larry Pappy Johnson, who they say dragged the victim into this parking lot off South 14th Street, then raped her. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">According to investigators, the victim told police she had a drink at a bar on East Carson Street, and the next thing she knew, she was waking up in the hospital without any of her belongings. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Police say that during the time period between her drink and waking up in the hospital, officers found her naked in a parking lot. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">She told them she couldn\u2019t remember what happened. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Surveillance cameras cover almost every inch of the parking lot. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">According to investigators, one of the cameras captured the man holding the woman by her waist because she couldn\u2019t even stand. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Police say the surveillance shows Johnson raping the victim, then leaving her in the parking lot with her purse draped around his neck. Detectives say he also stole her phone and Apple Watch. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Johnson is facing several felony charges.
