A man has been hospitalized overnight after, police said, he was injured in a hail of gunfire that happened in Philly’s Nicetown section. <\/p>\n
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers responded to the intersection of 18th Street and Erie Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday to find a man, believed to be in his mid-twenties, who had been shot in the arm.<\/p>\n
This man, Small said, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n
At the scene, he said, investigators found gunfire had struck at least two vehicles at the intersection and about 20 spent shell casings were recovered. <\/p>\n
However, no motive was immediately determined in this incident and no weapons were recovered, Small said.<\/p>\n
Also, he said, the victim in this incident was not cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the shooting. <\/p>\n
As of about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were still working at the scene as an investigation was underway. <\/p>\n
