SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Coroner Daniel A. Buglio has identified the 39-year-old man who died after being hit by a car on Tuesday night in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n
Bryan J. Carney, 39, was walking around the 3300 block of Hamilton Boulevard in South Whitehall Township at 11:10 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, police say.<\/p>\n
He was treated at the scene and then brought to the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2013Cedar Crest. Carney was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m., the coroner says.<\/p>\n
An autopsy was completed today at the Lehigh County Coroner\u2019s Office & Forensic Center, officials say.<\/p>\n
According to the coroner, the cause of death was determined to be Blunt Force Injuries.<\/p>\n
The manner of death remains under investigation, officials say.<\/p>\n
Township police say the vehicle’s driver stopped and is cooperating with authorities.<\/p>\n

The coroner says in addition to the Lehigh County Coroner\u2019s Office & Forensic Center, the South Whitehall Township Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office are investigating the accident.<\/p>\n
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
