New interchange planned for Pennsylvania Turnpike in Westmoreland County<\/p>\n

\"Shannon<\/a>MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014<\/p>\n

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is moving forward with a new interchange while putting plans for another one on hold.<\/p>\n

Turnpike officials plan to build a new interchange<\/a> in Westmoreland County, where the toll road crosses Route 981.<\/p>\n

A timeline has not been announced for the new interchange in Mount Pleasant Township, about 15 minutes south of Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.<\/p>\n

With this project, the turnpike is pausing development of an interchange where the turnpike crosses Route 130 in Penn Township, Westmoreland County. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 first reported on those plans<\/a> in October 2021.<\/p>\n

The turnpike says that interchange at Route 130 is still considered a priority project.<\/p>\n
