Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for several south-central Pennsylvania counties<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service in State College, Pennsylvania, has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northern Adams County, southwestern Cumberland County, east central Franklin County, and northwestern York County in south central Pennsylvania, effective until 3:45 p.m. EDT.<\/p>\n

At 2:55 p.m. EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Walnut Bottom to near Pine Grove Furnace to Fayetteville, moving east at 30 mph.<\/p>\n

“Hazard…60 mph wind gusts,” the National Weather Service said. <\/p>\n

“Source…Radar indicated,” the agency added. <\/p>\n

“Impact…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees,” the National Weather Service said. <\/p>\n

The warning includes locations such as Hampton, Dillsburg, Lake Meade, Mount Holly Springs, New Oxford, East Berlin, Cashtown, Aspers, Walnut Bottom, Pine Grove Furnace, Biglerville, and Arendtsville. <\/p>\n

Radar has indicated rotation within these severe thunderstorms. While a tornado is not immediately likely, the National Weather Service warned that tornadoes can develop quickly during severe thunderstorms. <\/p>\n

This warning also covers Interstate 81 from mile markers 31 to 36. <\/p>\n

The National Weather Service advised residents to stay inside a well-built structure and keep away from windows. <\/p>\n
