Once again selected as one of the nation\u2019s best colleges by\u00a0The\u00a0Princeton Review, The University of Scranton also earned three\u00a0top-25\u00a0rankings that reflect a campus culture rooted in connection,\u00a0service\u00a0and school pride.<\/p>\n
The Princeton Review\u2019s annual college guide,\u00a0\u201cThe Best 392 Colleges,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0was published Tuesday, Aug. 18. The highly\u00a0anticipated\u00a0ratings and rankings are based on the results of thousands of surveys,\u00a0completed\u00a0by college administrators and current students, plus institutional data.<\/p>\n In addition to\u00a0ranking among the 392 best colleges\u00a0\u2014\u00a0The\u00a0Princeton Review does not rank the schools overall in a numerical list \u2014 Scranton ranks\u00a0top-25\u00a0nationally in the following categories:<\/p>\n No. 20 Great Outdoors: Students Get OutsideNo. 24 Most Engaged in Community ServiceNo. 25 Students Love Their School Teams<\/p>\n The\u00a0Princeton Review rates colleges in several categories on a scale of 60 to 99.\u00a0Among\u00a0Scranton\u2019s highest scores\u00a0were\u00a090 for Professors Accessibility\u00a0and\u00a086 for Professors Interesting.\u00a0The publication quoted students saying professors\u00a0are\u00a0\u201cat Scranton because they want to teach and forge relationships with students\u201d and they \u201care very determined to see you succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n Scranton also received high scores of\u00a085 for Financial Aid\u00a0and\u00a085 for Quality of Life,\u00a0with students saying\u00a0the campus\u00a0atmosphere \u201cis typically rather lively\u201d with a \u201cpretty walkable\u201d campus that has many \u201ccomfortable and beautiful places to study and do work.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe colleges we profile in \u2018The Best 392 Colleges\u2019 vary by type, size, locale and campus culture,\u201d Rob Franek, the book\u2019s lead author, said\u00a0in a press release<\/a>. \u201cThe colleges that make our ranking lists in the book do so entirely\u00a0as a result of\u00a0their own students\u2019 opinions of them. We\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0rank the schools on a single hierarchical list, nor have we ever crowned one college \u2018best\u2019 overall. No school is\u00a0best\u00a0overall. For 35 years, our goal for this project has been to create multiple ranking lists and resources to help college applicants answer what is likely the toughest but also the most important question in their journey to college: \u2018Which college is best for me?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this summer, The University of Scranton\u2019s Kania School of Management appeared on\u00a0The Princeton\u2019 Review\u2019s list of Best Business Schools for 2027<\/a>. Scranton\u2019s KSOM was one of 208 colleges selected as a Best On-Campus MBA Program. Selections and rankings were based on more than 60 data points derived from surveys of students and business school administrators.<\/p>\n Founded in 1888, The University of Scranton is a Catholic and Jesuit university with 70 majors and more than 40 graduate programs housed in its three colleges (the Kania School of Management<\/a>,\u00a0the College of Arts and Sciences<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the Leahy College of Health Sciences<\/a>).
