Two men were killed and at least three others were injured in separate shootings<\/a> over the weekend across Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

In Kensington, someone gunned down a 35-year-old man just after 5:15 a.m. Sunday, according to police. Officers responding to the scene, on the 3200 block of Kensington Avenue, found the victim unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his back, chest and right leg, law enforcement officials said.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Authorities have not publicly identified the victim. No arrests have been made, and there was no word on a possible motive.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, just after 11:30 p.m., a 64-year-old man was shot in the face at the corner of Wakeling and Jackson streets in Frankford, according to the PPD. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials have not released his name.<\/p>\n

A 39-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning, and police recovered two handguns at the scene, investigators said. Charges had not been filed as of Sunday.<\/p>\n

Shots were fired during a fight after an e-bike crash that happened at around 2:45 a.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of Mifflin Street in South Philadelphia, law enforcement said.<\/p>\n

Officers were called for a report of a person with a gun and came upon a 29-year-old man who had multiple scrapes on his head, police said. He initially declined treatment but was later hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Investigators documented evidence of shots being fired on Mifflin, and, at around 4:30 a.m., officers found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his hip on the 2000 block of Chestnut Street in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, according to the PPD. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Detectives believe the older man crashed his e-bike in South Philadelphia, and an argument ensued over possible damage to a vehicle. Both men were injured during a resulting physical altercation. Authorities said they are working to obtain surveillance footage from the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

A 21-year-old man was in critical condition, police said, after he was shot just before 5 p.m. Saturday on bleachers next to a running track on the 100 block of W. Hunting Park Avenue, located behind Thomas A. Edison High School.<\/p>\n

Investigators learned that the shooter fled in a burgundy sedan with tinted windows, and officers later stopped a vehicle matching that description on Lippincott Street in Kensington, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

They arrested 40-year-old Omar Hunter, and a witness identified him as the suspect, the PPD stated. He was charged Sunday with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other offenses, court documents show. Police believe Hunter and the victim had an argument prior to the gunfire.<\/p>\n

Early Saturday morning, just before 3:15 a.m., someone shot a 43-year-old man in his quadriceps on the 4100 block of N. Broad Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

Investigators said he was inside a business on the block when a dispute broke out between a woman and another man. The two men then got involved in a fight that spilled outside, police added.<\/p>\n

Through Aug. 22, 117 people had been murdered in Philadelphia, a decrease of 20% compared to the same date last year, according to police data<\/a>. The number of shooting victims is also down nearly 32%.<\/p>\n
