{"id":270950,"date":"2026-08-24T00:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T00:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/270950\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T00:34:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T00:34:07","slug":"the-give-back-kids-get-free-haircuts-school-supplies-during-community-event-in-homewood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/270950\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018The Give Back\u2019: Kids get free haircuts, school supplies during community event in Homewood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 Local kids got their hair styled for the new school year during a community event in Pittsburgh\u2019s Homewood neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cThe Give Back\u201d is now in its fourth year, providing kids with free lunch, backpacks with school supplies, clothes and haircuts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Organizer Kayla James says the effort keeps getting bigger every year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cEach year we try to find more hair stylists,\u201d James said. \u201cThis year we have about 10 stylists, five barbers. We\u2019re able to service up to 40 kids this year.
