Bob Super was just that for Dickson City (Gallis Insurance) in the District 17 City-County championship game. Super knocked in the winning run in the top of the seventh and then got the pitching win after striking out two of three batters in the bottom of the inning to give Dickson City the 6-2 win against North Scranton (Gall\u2019s Exxon). Dickson City finished the season 22-0. Trailing, 2-0, North Scranton\u2019s Gerry McNamara hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to send the game to extra innings. Dickson City\u2019s Cory Zadzura led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and advanced to third on Mark Romanczyk\u2019s single. Super then ripped the game-winning single to left with one out. Dickson City tacked on three more runs when starting pitcher Brian Valonis doubled to score Romanczyk and Super. Frank Mazur then singled home Valonis, who tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts through six innings. McNamara pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts through six innings and was relieved in the seventh.
