After nearly four years of operation and changes in name, owners and location, a Lehigh Valley board game cafe will soon say goodbye.<\/p>\n
Mystery Box Games will hold its final day Aug. 30 at 1458 Northampton St. in Easton, owner Stephanie Rodriguez-Solis announced online<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI will be leaving Mystery Box Games before September 1st. I do not expect the business to continue operating afterwards, but at that point it will not be my decision,\u201d Rodriguez-Solis said. \u201cThough the community has grown from where we were when I came in and is amazing right now, there have regularly been unexpected pressures behind the scenes. Therefore for my own sake and for hopefully the true growth of a positive community experience, I will be leaving Mystery Box Games LLC to previous ownership.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI want to emphasize that this is might be the loss of the physical space, but not a loss of the community it has housed. Nothing can take that away. And I hope to continue being a part of the community and organizing for it as much as it is welcomed. I have met so many wonderful people through this, I will hopefully see many of you beyond this as well!\u201d<\/p>\n The cafe will hold a few more events before it closes such as Blood on the Clocktower and Magic: The Gathering.<\/p>\n Babs Vasconez and Mikus Matiss<\/a> first opened the cafe under the name Punch Out Games in 2022 near Circle Park in Easton. It allows people to enjoy food and drinks while they play board games, card games, video games and puzzles.<\/p>\n The cafe announced online that Matiss would leave as co-owner in September 2025<\/a>, while the Easton Business Association announced announced Rodriguez-Solis\u2019s ownership in a December news release.<\/p>\n
