READING, Pa. – Miller-Keystone Blood Center (MKBC) held a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting for its newly renovated Reading Donor Center on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

MKBC leadership gathered with blood donors, community leaders, legislative officials, and other supporters to mark the completion of upgrades to the center.<\/p>\n

The organization says the new center is designed to enhance the blood donation experience and better serve the community.<\/p>\n

The renovation project included reconfiguring the Donor Center and Administrative Offices, along with installing new donor chairs, energy-efficient LED lighting, and updated ADA-compliant restrooms.<\/p>\n

The Reading Donor Center is one of six fixed-site donor centers operated by Miller-Keystone Blood Center.<\/p>\n

The center says that with more than 1,000 community blood drives held annually throughout the region, these locations help collect approximately 350 blood donations each day to meet the transfusion needs of patients at hospitals across eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey.<\/p>\n
