Lebanon and Navy, was with the Steelers for a tryout at rookie minicamp this spring, but was not signed to a contract.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Tecza had returned to Navy, where he had been serving as a graduate assistant for the football team this summer, while waiting for his military assignment.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot, 199-pound Tecza rushed for 2,228 yards on 408 carries (5.5 average) and 23 touchdowns in his three years at Navy. Three of his 13-career touchdown runs were from 60 yards or more.<\/p>\n<p>Tecza displayed impressive burst at his Navy pro day, running a 4.58 40-yard dash. He is projected to be a running back or fullback in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>The Steelers drafted fullback <a href=\"https:\/\/steelersnow.com\/tag\/riley-nowakowski\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Riley Nowakowski<\/a> in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and have used him only sparingly throughout training camp and the preseason, so the team\u2019s need for Tecza is not immediately clear.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the signing of Tecza on Monday, the Steelers signed rookie cornerback <a href=\"https:\/\/steelersnow.com\/tag\/jaylon-guilbeau\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jaylon Guilbeau<\/a>, and released veteran safety <a href=\"https:\/\/steelersnow.com\/tag\/israel-mukuamu\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel Mukuamu<\/a>.
