In this week’s 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 10-month-old husky surrendered by his owners because they didn’t realize his breed and how big he would get. <\/p>\n

ARCHBALD, Pa. \u2014 In this week’s 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 10-month-old husky surrendered by his owners because they didn’t realize his breed and how big he would get.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He loves kids, he loves people, he loves cats, he loves other dogs. He gets along with every single dog that I’ve had around him, fantastic,” said Jordyn Propst.<\/p>\n

And Camilo is around a lot of other dogs all the time. Camilo is being fostered through\u00a0Friends with Paws Pet Rescue\u00a0<\/a>at a home in Archibald. His foster mom is a dog trainer and boards dogs, too, so he is really loving all of the space to run around and all his dog friends.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Camilo will be one in October; he was surrendered by his owners who adopted him as a puppy.<\/p>\n

“He was a little tiny fluff ball when they got him, and then he was only four months old when they surrendered him, and they literally said the only reason was because he was getting too big. They didn’t realize how big he was going to be, so I don’t know if they were not given the correct breed when they adopted him because he was a puppy, so they could have been given something else, and then he started getting bigger and bigger,” said Propst.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He probably won’t grow anymore now, maybe just get a little fluffier. Camilo is a husky mix; rescue workers aren’t sure exactly what he is mixed with, but he needs a family who understands the husky breed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But he is a husky. They have a temperament that most dogs don’t have, so he is an escape artist. With that being said he does come with a tracker, we got him a tracker because he will try to escape a fence. So if you don’t have a fenced-in yard kind of like this one, like a 6-foot fence at least, it’s not going to be very suitable for him because he will be able to scale that,” Propst said.<\/p>\n

But Camilo is crate trained, potty trained, and is good on a leash. He is very treat motivated, and rescue workers say he would make a great family dog with kids and other pets in the home to keep him company.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He does great when he has other dogs to play with. He also will do great in an area where he has to run. If there’s no yard for him to run in, he’s not going to get that energy that he very much needs, so he needs a very large space to run around in,” said Propst.<\/p>\n

And rescue workers say Camilo has a true husky attitude and will howl at you when he feels it’s necessary.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“So if you try to talk to him, he will 100% talk back to you. If you tell him no, or stop giving him belly scratches or head scratches, you will get some attitude with that because he doesn’t want you to stop. He’s a really, really good dog,” Propst said.<\/p>\n
