L. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – A man is being accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman at a hotel in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County.<\/p>\n
Javier Santos-Rivera, 41, was charged with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Aggravated Assault \u2013 Attempts to Cause Serious Bodily Injury or Causes Injury with Extreme Indifference and Sexual Assault, all felonies; and misdemeanor charges of Simple Assault, Indecent Assault without Consent of Other and Intimidate Witness or Victim \u2013 Refrain from Report, the Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office said in a news release.<\/p>\n
On March 21 around 7:17 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police were called to an area hospital for a female reporting a sexual assault, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Investigators determined the assault happened at a hotel located along Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township, the jurisdiction of Pennsylvania State Police in Fogelsville, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the name of the 19-year-old victim will not be released.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said the victim was dropped off at the hospital\u2019s emergency room entrance by a private vehicle registered to Santos-Rivera.<\/p>\n
The woman told investigators she had a relationship with Santos-Rivera, and that on the day of the sexual assault they went out to dinner before returning to the hotel room that Santos-Rivera had rented, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
The victim told police that while they engaged in consensual sexual conduct, Santos-Rivera then began to sexually assault her, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
The victim told police she told Santos-Rivera to stop, but he continued for several minutes and restrained her with his wrists and waist, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
She said after the assault, Santos-Rivera dropped her off at the hospital, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said the woman had to undergo surgery due to the severity of her injuries sustained from the assault.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"L.
