(WOLF) \u2014 Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis hosted a Press Conference on Monday morning inside the Carpenters Local Union building in Scranton to highlight why he and Governor Josh Shapiro should be reelected this November over Republican challenger Stacy Garrity<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Pennsylvanians need leaders who they can trust and leaders who are honest with them, and it\u2019s clear that we can\u2019t trust Stacy Garrity,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n<p>The press conference is part of a statewide tour to criticize Garrity\u2019s agenda and stance on issues like the minimum wage, abortion and data centers.<\/p>\n<p>This also comes just weeks after Garrity visited President Trump in the Oval Office with<a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/117038423985609551\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> a video endorsement posted by the President on Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Davis and local legislators from the State House and Senate like Senator Marty Flynn criticized Garrity\u2019s links to President Trump, emphasizing that Garrity\u2019s vision for Pennsylvania is one that\u2019s about serving Trump instead of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStacy Garrity wants Donald Trump in her corner, Josh Shapiro wants Pennsylvania in his corner, and I\u2019ll take the people of Pennsylvania every damn time,\u201d Sen. Flynn said.<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3962\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the latest Quinnipiac University poll does have Shapiro and Davis maintaining a double-digit lead over Garrity<\/a>, the Lieutenant Governor says he and Governor Shapiro aren\u2019t letting their foot off the gas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the contrast in this election couldn\u2019t be clearer, and the Governor and I aren\u2019t taking anything for granted, and we\u2019re showing up in communities all across Pennsylvania talking about things we\u2019ve been able to accomplish,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n<p>Davis also highlighted the importance of the State Senate elections as Democrats look to flip the one legislative body in Harrisburg where they don\u2019t have the majority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been crisscrossing Pennsylvania campaigning with candidates for the State Senate, and I think this is the best opportunity we\u2019ve had in a generation to flip the State Senate,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n<p>Davis said that he and fellow Democrats are going to do everything they can to ensure a Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg after Election Day on November 3rd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO.
