BERKS COUNTY, Pa.- Thursday marked move-in day for freshmen at many colleges and universities around Berks County.<\/p>\n
“I’m excited; that’s really it,” says freshman Michael Goodman from Baltimore who is moving into the dorms at Albright College in Reading.<\/p>\n
“I actually like the environment,” says Goodman.<\/p>\n
“I don’t like it too crowded. It’s not crowded; it’s just enough people in my opinion,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
“It’s a good time,” says Albright Senior and Football player, Erik Thelander, who\u2019s helping students get situated.<\/p>\n
“You get to introduce the freshmen to where they’re going to be living and help them move all their stuff in,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Kutztown University is also welcoming Freshmen and their families to campus Thursday.<\/p>\n
“I never went out of state for college, so this is a first-time experience for the entire family,” says Shenna Bogetti, who was moving her daughter in.<\/p>\n
The Bogetti family came from Dover, Delaware.<\/p>\n
“I’m majoring in library science, and I’m really excited to get into that, and learn more about libraries and just continue English,” says Mackenzie Bogetti.<\/p>\n
At Penn State Berks, even the chancellor and the Nittany Lion helped students move in.<\/p>\n
Another family 69 News spoke to came to Penn State Berks to move their daughter in. The parents lived in ‘The Village’ when they were young. Their daughter is going to be living in ‘The Woods’, which, at the time when her parents came here, was actually just the woods.<\/p>\n
“Definitely a lot different, but your memories come back for sure,” says Eric Soulliard, a Penn State Berks graduate and parent.<\/p>\n
Emery Soulliard is hoping to follow in her mother’s footsteps even further and study psychology.<\/p>\n
“[I’m excited to be] just taking a bunch of new classes and actually getting to learn stuff about the degree that I want to go into,\u201d Soulliard said.<\/p>\n
“We looked at a few different schools, but it ended up being a pretty short list,” says Eric S.<\/p>\n
“We obviously had a great experience here,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
