The Great Allentown Fair will be Sept. 2 through Sept. 7 in the Allentown Fairgrounds, bounded by 17th, Chew and Liberty streets, west end Allentown.<\/p>\n
On the Service Electric Grandstand Stage: The Four Tops with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Diane Witty, music director and conductor, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2; \u201cStars, Stripes & Slams\u201d professional wrestling, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3; Warren Zeiders, 7 p.m. Sept. 4; All Time Low, 7 p.m. Sept. 5; Local Legends: The Aardvarks, Social Call, Common Bond, Stereotype, Strange Culture, Scott Marshall & The Highway Souls, 2 p.m. Sept. 6; and J&J Demolition Derby, 5 p.m. Sept. 7.<\/p>\n
The Allentown Fair was founded in 1852. Give or take a few years for world wars and the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2026 fair marks the 174th anniversary.<\/p>\n
Legendary Motown icons The Four Tops will take the stage with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra for an opening night performance.<\/p>\n
The Four Tops is commemorating an extraordinary milestone this year: 70 years of timeless music and unforgettable performances.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Great Allentown Fair has always been about bringing exceptional entertainment to our community, and this performance is truly something special,\u201d said Jessica Ciecwisz, the fair\u2019s marketing and entertainment manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe combination of The Four Tops\u2019 legendary catalog and the artistry of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra will create an unforgettable evening for music lovers of all generations,\u201d Ciecwisz said in a press release from the fair.<\/p>\n
At this year\u2019s Allentown Fair, the Powers & Thomas Midway has rides for all ages. Ride wristbands and tickets are available for purchase on the Carnival Midway. Advance ride wristbands are available at the fair box office through Sept. 1.<\/p>\n
The Fair Queen Contest is held opening night, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2, Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater.<\/p>\n
The \u201cHometown Hero Award,\u201d recognizing a service member or veteran, is to be presented 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6, Farmerama Theater.<\/p>\n
Fair attendees can again vote for the \u201cBest New Fair Food.\u201d<\/p>\n
The third annual \u201cScrapple-Eating Contest\u201d is 3 p.m. Sept. 5, Farmerama Theater.<\/p>\n
The second annual \u201cMullet Contest\u201d is 6 p.m. Sept. 5, Farmerama Theater.<\/p>\n
Contests, with on-site registration, include: \u201cAnimal Mardi-Gras,\u201d \u201cBarnyard Olympics,\u201d \u201cDraw Your Own Picture Contest,\u201d \u201cEn Plein Air Sketching Contest,\u201d \u201cHay Bale Throwing Contest,\u201d \u201cMother-Daughter, Father-Son Look-Alike Contest,\u201d \u201cPlay Doh Sculpting Contest\u201d and \u201cPatriotic White Pumpkin Decorating Contest.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the Agri-Land area, activities include \u201cLil\u2019 Farm Hands,\u201d \u201c4-H Livestock Experience\u201d and the \u201cJudging Tent.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the Agri-Plex are Competitive Exhibits and on the Centennial Stage, the \u201cFarm to Table Cooking Series,\u201d \u201cIron Chef Competition\u201d and \u201dGrain to Glass.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Great Allentown Fair is partnering with Adventures Made 4 U, creator of personalized children\u2019s e-books, to offer free custom storybooks to young fairgoers.<\/p>\n
A red, white and blue quilt will be auctioned at 7 p.m. Sept. 4, Farmerama Theater, as part of the fair\u2019s \u201cAmerica250\u201d celebration.<\/p>\n
The price of admission to the fair includes free entertainment: \u201cButterfly Kingdom,\u201d \u201cHarvest Patio Stage,\u201d \u201cRock \u2018N Circus,\u201d \u201cHog Diggity Dog & More,\u201d \u201cCamp Capybara,\u201d \u201cSteve Goodtime,\u201d \u201cRobinson\u2019s Pig Paddling Porkers,\u201d \u201cThe Cup Guy,\u201d \u201cMoodonna, Allentown Fair Mascot\u201d and \u201cKris Clayton, Juggling Stilt-Walker.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also, on the Farmerama stage: Godfrey Daniels At 50, The Jubilee Continues, Grape Stomp Contest, Aqua String Band Mummers, and Richie And The High Street Rockers.<\/p>\n
At Agri-Plex Square Sponsored by Service Electric and PenTeleData, performers include Scott\u2019s Magic U.S.A., Gypsy and The Moonshiners, Swingtime Dolls, Dan & Galla, Craig Thatcher Quintet, Adeline Csontos, and Robbie Lawrence and The Steel Workers Senior Day Celebration.<\/p>\n
Music at Weyerbacher Biergarten includes TMT Classic Rock, Life After Dead, Pure Petty Band, Reservoir Hill and Mark Fahad, Galena Brass Band and Brian Kibler.<\/p>\n
