{"id":272347,"date":"2026-08-26T04:56:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T04:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272347\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T04:56:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T04:56:13","slug":"allentown-fairgrounds-closing-gates-to-prepare-for-2026-great-allentown-fair-allentown-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272347\/","title":{"rendered":"Allentown Fairgrounds closing gates to prepare for 2026 Great Allentown Fair | Allentown Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALLENTOWN, Pa. &#8211; Allentown officials announced the temporary closure of the Allentown Fairgrounds in preparation for The Great Allentown Fair.<\/p>\n<p>The Great Allentown Fair is only a week away from its 2026 edition running Wednesday, September 2 through Labor Day Monday, September 7, according to a news release from the city.<\/p>\n<p>City officials say starting this Wednesday, August 26 at 12 a.m., the Allentown Fairgrounds will close its gates to traffic between Liberty and Chew Streets, the north and south borders of the grounds, in preparation for the fair.<\/p>\n<p>Patrons of the Ritz Barbecue along with Box Office ticket buyers are asked to go to Gate 2 on Chew Street just west of 17th Street to enter onto the fairgrounds, according to the City. The fairgrounds will offer parking through Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The release says tickets to the fair\u2019s Grandstand shows, advance discount tickets for all day ride wristbands and half-price fair admission tickets will be available at Fair Box Office. The Fair Box Office is located on the fairgrounds between the Ritz Barbecue and the Grandstand concert venue. Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted. Box Office hours are 12 p.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday this week. Extended hours begin on Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m.-3 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Opening Night September 2, Box Office hours will be 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and will remain open throughout fair week from 12 p.m.-9 p.m. Labor Day Monday hours are 12 p.m. \u2013 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Show and admission tickets are available online anytime at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/Ticketmaster.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ticketmaster.com<\/a>.
