EASTON, Pa. – The 2026 Pennsylvania Latino Convention is coming to Easton for the first time in its history.<\/p>\n
“Everybody wants to be in Easton,” said Mayor Sal Panto.<\/p>\n
The two-day event is less than a month away, and organizers met inside of Easton City Hall to break down what guests can expect.<\/p>\n
“I’m very excited because this is our first conference in the city,” said Panto.<\/p>\n
Panto said it’ll be busy.<\/p>\n
“There’s something for everybody,” said Panto. “They should attend, learn more about the Latino population and more about their own history.”<\/p>\n
Thousands of people are expected to gather inside of the State Theatre on Northampton Street for the convention, from September 20th through the 22nd.<\/p>\n
PA Latino Convention Vice Chair Olga Negron said she’s hopeful for a positive turnout, at the convention’s workshops and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n
“Everybody has the heart to make this happen,” said Negron.<\/p>\n
As a mother of three in the Lehigh Valley, Negron said the efforts that go into planning an event of this size, travel far beyond the work.<\/p>\n
“It’s really important to me. My kids are grown, but there’s so many more out there,” said Negron. “So, let’s work together and let’s make this happen and move forward as a community.”<\/p>\n
PA Latino Convention Chairman Norman Bristol Colon said the convention follows a strategic and intentional plan, especially with a growing Latino population in the city.<\/p>\n
“Today is more than 25%. That is happening all across the Commonwealth,” said Colon. “I hope that you can join us. It is like a family reunion of Latinos that don’t know each other, but we have a common agenda and a common destiny.”<\/p>\n
The convention is part of a week-long list of events in Easton.<\/p>\n
