MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. \u2013 A longstanding destination for pizza, pasta and other Italian specialties has bid farewell in Berks County.<\/p>\n

Valentino\u2019s Restaurant, a full-service restaurant and bar offering authentic, freshly prepared Italian cuisine, has closed at 15492 Kutztown Road in Maxatawny Township.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made on the business’ Facebook page.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFarewell, the lights have gone down, and the doors have closed at Valentino’s Restaurant and Bar in Kutztown,\u201d the online announcement reads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFor nearly half a century, this space has been so much more than a restaurant. It has been a place of shared milestones, traditions, first dates, and late-night laughs. Since 1978, we have had the absolute honor of feeding your families, celebrating your triumphs, and being a part of this beautiful community.\u201d<\/p>\n

For nearly 50 years, Valentino\u2019s served up Italian specialties such as bruschetta, lasagna, manicotti, lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi over linguini and veal parmesan with spaghetti.<\/p>\n

The restaurant also featured a full bar.<\/p>\n

Valentino\u2019s operated at the busy intersection of Kutztown Road (Route 222) and Long Lane, which has undergone extensive construction work in recent months as a roundabout is constructed.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, a stretch of Long Lane between 222 and Topton Road reopened following a months-long closure<\/a>.<\/p>\n
