{"id":272668,"date":"2026-08-26T16:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T16:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272668\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T16:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T16:58:08","slug":"squirrel-hill-nursing-home-owner-seeks-chapter-11-bankruptcy-protection-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272668\/","title":{"rendered":"Squirrel Hill nursing home owner seeks Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The owner of a long-time Pittsburgh nursing facility has filed for protection from creditors via Chapter 11 bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Squirrel Hill PA Realty LLC, which filed its application on August 21 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in downtown Pittsburgh, owns Squirrel Hill Wellness &amp; Rehabilitation Center, a 178-bed facility that\u2019s been a local fixture for close to 40 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cRight now, the company is focused on continuity of operations and starting a process to sell the skilled nursing facility as a going concern,\u201d Michael Shiner, the lawyer who is representing Squirrel Hill PA Realty, said via email.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">It faces \u201cthe same challenges\u201d as many other skilled nursing facilities in Pennsylvania that filed bankruptcy in the last few years, he added.
