Program hosts Family Fun Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It was perfect weather for the University of Scranton&#8217;s Family Fun Day on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The school&#8217;s Center for Service and Social Justice hosted the event at Novembrino Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Organizers say the goal is to help first-year students acclimate to college life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This program, F.I.R.S.T., which stands for &#8216;First Years Involved Reflective Service Together&#8217;, really is a great experience for incoming first-years and the upperclassmen team, because it gives them a chance to get involved in the Scranton community where we go to school, and model the pillars of our Jesuit education,&#8221; said Kate Vyzaniaris, senior.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Students could participate in games, a school supply giveaway, and more at the event in Scranton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It was perfect weather for the University of Scranton&#8217;s Family Fun Day on Tuesday.
