{"id":272913,"date":"2026-08-27T00:34:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272913\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T00:34:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:34:49","slug":"second-person-sentenced-in-2024-beating-homicide-of-erie-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/272913\/","title":{"rendered":"Second person sentenced in 2024 beating homicide of Erie man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(WJET\/WFXP)&#8211; A second of four people charged in the fatal beating of an Erie man in 2024 pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Erie County District Attorney&#8217;s Office said 63-year-old Jack Defilippo pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment for his role in the murder of 31-year-old Ledomperignon Eady.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">With that guilty plea, Defilippo was sentenced to 11 and a half to 22 months in prison due to his cooperation in the case that led to 39-year-old Jeffery Edmund being convicted of third-degree murder in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Eady was found severely beaten the night of October 30, 2024, in the 1000 block of East 26th Street and was pronounced dead later that evening. The Erie County Coroner&#8217;s Office later determined he died from blunt-force trauma to the head and neck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The two remaining defendants in the case, 44-year-old Devon Barnett and 38-year-old Leah Hardin, still have their cases pending.
