Nick Swaha submitted his resignation as athletic director at North Pocono to take the same position at Upper Dublin High School.<\/p>\n
Swaha, who started his career as the athletic director at Blue Ridge, spent two years at North Pocono.<\/p>\n
North Pocono posted an opening for an interim athletic director on the school\u2019s website and social media on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI very much appreciated my time at North Pocono and working with the coaches and building great team success,\u201d Swaha, 29, said. \u201cI loved the community. During Swaha\u2019s tenure, North Pocono achieved success, including championships in football, girls\u2019 basketball, and softball. We had some excellent teams and great state runs, and I enjoyed being a small piece of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Upper Dublin is a Class 6A school that recently won District 1 and PIAA team championships in baseball (2025) and last season\u2019s girls\u2019 basketball title (2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cI am excited for this opportunity,\u201d Swaha said. \u201cUpper Dublin is building into a powerhouse in sports. They won the Class 6A state championship in girls\u2019 basketball and baseball and have had champions in swimming and diving. I aim to build on that success and work with the coaches and administrators. It is a very tight-knit community that supports all of the programs and works with the youth programs. All of the administrators at the school have been athletic directors before, so they understand the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to make the position my own and develop ways that we can work to always better support our student-athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Swaha, a PIAA official and umpire, has a bachelor\u2019s degree in sports management from SUNY Cortland and a master\u2019s degree in organizational development and leadership from Shippensburg University.<\/p>\n
He was appointed athletic director at Blue Ridge, his alma mater, in 2022. He accepted the position at North Pocono in 2024 and served as the Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletic Association volleyball president.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason that I got into athletics, and the reason I enjoy it, is because of the late Jill Hoffman, my athletic director at Blue Ridge,\u201d Swaha said. \u201cShe taught me that it is not just about the games, getting officials, and the transportation schedule, but it is most importantly about supporting our student athletes. Everywhere I have been, I tried to build relationships with the whole student body, not just the athletes.
