SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) \u2014 Somerset County District Attorney Tom Leiden has confirmed that Pennsylvania State Police is investigating a shooting that they say happened in Meyersdale Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees tells 6 News that while he was not called to the hospital, he’s learned that the victim was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and is in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Leiden tells us that there is reason to be “cautiously optimistic” about the victim’s recovery as investigators continue to put together details about what happened.<\/p>\n
He confirms that the suspect is in custody, and says that there is no threat to the public at this time.<\/p>\n
Leiden says Pennsylvania State Police are expected to release more information as their investigation continues.<\/p>\n

Authorities in Somerset County are investigating a reported shooting at a property in Meyersdale.<\/p>\n
Emergency officials on scene confirming that police were called to a garage, along the 300 block of Broadway Street, just before 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
While details are limited at this time, the chief of the Summit Township Police Department has confirmed that the suspected shooter is in custody.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions are on scene, including members of Pennsylvania State Police.<\/p>\n
According to our crew on scene, police were also witnessed interviewing two men near the property and a neighbor we spoke with reported hearing multiple suspected gunshots moments before police arrived.<\/p>\n
Somerset County coroner Cullen Swank says that his office was not dispatched to the shooting and details about the victim(s) have not been provided by investigators.<\/p>\n
