Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department were busy overnight as officers were spotted working at separate scenes in Northeast Philly following a shooting. <\/p>\n
According to police, the initial investigation began after a report of a shooting along the 4600 block of Shelmire Avenue in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia just after 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In a morning update, police said a 46-year-old man was driving along the roadway when his vehicle was shot at several times by an unknown shooter.<\/p>\n
The driver, officials said, suffered cuts due to broken glass caused by gunfire. <\/p>\n
A 34-year-old passenger in the backseat of the vehicle suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs, police said.<\/p>\n
The pair remained in the vehicle and drove to Nazareth Hospital, where officials said, they were both listed in stable condition. <\/p>\n
At the Shelmire Avenue scene, officers could be seen collecting evidence, including finding spent shell casings along the ground.<\/p>\n
Officers outside Nazareth Hospital, about two-and-a-half miles from the other scene, were also conducting a shooting investigation early Thursday.<\/p>\n
Here, investigators were seen combing through a vehicle parked outside the hospital that had a shattered passenger side window. <\/p>\n
An investigation into this incident is underway, officials said.<\/p>\n
