Gretchen J. Van Dyke, Ph.D., associate professor of political science\u00a0at The University of Scranton, recently accepted an invitation to join the Bretton Woods Committee, an influential and international network that connects academia, government, finance and industry, think tanks,\u00a0nonprofits and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n
Membership\u00a0in\u00a0the Bretton Woods Committee is extended by invitation only and reflects significant professional achievement and\u00a0expertise\u00a0in economic and policy matters. Members collaborate to advance dialogue on pressing global economic and financial issues of all kinds.\u00a0The organization\u2019s mission is to support a strong,\u00a0multilateral,\u00a0more\u00a0inclusive\u00a0and forward-looking international\u00a0economic and\u00a0financial system.<\/p>\n
Founded in\u00a01983, the Bretton Woods Committee\u00a0is particularly committed to\u00a0the\u00a0continued\u00a0stability of\u00a0the\u00a0World Bank\u00a0and\u00a0International Monetary Fund\u00a0as well as\u00a0broad\u00a0global economic cooperation,\u00a0the\u00a0key\u00a0foundational\u00a0elements of\u00a0the post-World War II\u00a0economic\u00a0order\u00a0conceived at the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n
Dr. Van Dyke, whose nomination was sponsored by an existing member, will have opportunities to\u00a0interact\u00a0with policymakers and global leaders at high-level events. She will also contribute to the organization\u2019s thought leadership through publications, working\u00a0groups\u00a0and its global network of forums and conferences.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Trinity College (B.A.) and the University of Virginia (M.A., Ph.D.), Dr. Van Dyke joined the University in 1994.\u00a0She\u2019s\u00a0been an associate professor of political science\u00a0since\u00a02000 and specializes in international relations, foreign and national security policy and decision-making,\u00a0the European Union and U.S. governmental\u00a0institutions, teaching a wide range of courses that reflect policy\u00a0expertise\u00a0and global perspective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gretchen J.
