An Erie County Sheriff’s Office employee has been placed on administrative leave after a crash in Cheektowaga led to a DWI charge.<\/p>\n

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. \u2014 An employee of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash Friday night on French Road near a 7-Eleven store, according to police and the sheriff’s office.<\/p>\n

Police said 35-year-old Christopher Imhof was allegedly driving drunk in the Town of Cheektowaga when he was involved in the crash.<\/p>\n

Both Imhof and the other driver were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Imhof was later released on an appearance ticket. Police said that additional charges may be forthcoming.<\/p>\n

In a statement provided to 2 On Your Side<\/a>, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said Imhof is an employee in the Jail Management Division.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office said Imhof has been placed on administrative leave and will remain on administrative leave while an internal investigation is underway.<\/p>\n
