An Erie tradition of reclaiming homicide scenes for peace continued today, as nuns and community members gathered to support the loved ones of the city’s latest homicide victim.<\/p>\n
Deb Seng with the Sisters of Saint Joseph says 61-year-old Frederick Torrence lost his life in July after being shot in the arm and chest. His car later crashed near Pulaski Park.<\/p>\n
The Benedictine Sisters say the gathering is about more than remembering Torrence. It’s about reclaiming a place marked by tragedy and transforming it into a space for healing, peace and community support.<\/p>\n
Two people have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting.
