Mural completion festivities: Completion of \u201cCall of the Wild: The Elephants of Nay Aug\u201d mural by local artist Eric Bussart, Friday, 5-8 p.m., Scranton Art Haus, 301 Lackawanna Ave. A project of Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s Mural Arts Program in partnership with Lackawanna County, the mural is located along the 300 block of Lackawanna Avenue, adjacent to Scranton Art Haus. The festivities will include live music by Gold Rush Trio; light fare and beverages will be available for purchase. Scranton Art Haus will donate a portion of proceeds from the evening to Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s Mural Arts Program.<\/p>\n
Caregivers resource fair: The Wright Center for Community Health Scranton will host a caregivers resource fair Nov. 20, offering family members and caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer\u2019s disease or dementia an opportunity to connect with local support services and learn more about the Scranton JCC\u2019s Caf\u00e9 Connections and a regional support group. The free public event at 501 S. Washington Ave., from 5-7 p.m., will feature keynote speaker Rhonda Fallk, coordinator and facilitator of Caf\u00e9 Connections and a local Alzheimer\u2019s support group. Attendees will also be able to meet representatives from several community agencies representing Age-Friendly Lackawanna, and others offering valuable caregiver information. Caf\u00e9 Connections is a memory caf\u00e9 \u2014 a welcoming social environment designed for individuals experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer\u2019s disease or other dementias and their care partners. Participants engage in creative arts, music, games and other activities that promote connection and joy. Fallk will discuss how the caf\u00e9 and support group foster community, reduce isolation and strengthen the caregiving journey.
