(WHTM) \u2014 As data center development continues across the Keystone State, regulators are grappling with how to balance the development and consumer protection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission voted 3-2 Thursday to issue a tentative order proposing a model tariff to guide how large electric customers, like data centers, connect to the grid and share costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/inside-pennsylvania-data-centers-220926200.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:What\u2019s inside Pennsylvania\u2019s data centers?;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> What\u2019s inside Pennsylvania\u2019s data centers? <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cPennsylvania has a real opportunity here \u2013 if we get it right,\u201d noted PUC Chairman Steve DeFrank. \u201cToday\u2019s tentative order is about welcoming investment and jobs while making sure existing customers aren\u2019t stuck with the bill.
