Nivin Pauly-Mamitha Baiju’s Malayalam rom-com “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” continued its impressive box-office run on Day 8, recording strong collections both in India and overseas. The film collected a net \u20b99.55 crore in India from 2,481 shows, taking its total India net collection to \u20b961.85 crore. Its India gross collection has now reached \u20b972.15 crore.<\/p>\n
The film also performed well internationally, earning \u20b98 crore on its eighth day. This has pushed its total overseas gross collection to \u20b975.50 crore. As a result, the film’s worldwide gross has reached \u20b9147.65 crore in just eight days, as per figures recorded by Sacnilk.<\/p>\n
The Day 8 India net collection of \u20b99.55 crore is particularly significant. It represents a 9.1% increase over the previous day’s \u20b98.75 crore and marks the film’s highest single-day collection so far. Achieving its biggest day on the first day of the second week is a strong sign of continued audience interest.<\/p>\n
With its worldwide gross now at \u20b9147.65 crore, “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” has already surpassed Nivin Pauly’s earlier career benchmarks, including “Premam” and “Sarvam Maya”. The romantic comedy, directed by Girish A.D., is also reportedly among the fastest Malayalam films to approach the \u20b9150 crore milestone, putting it closer to the biggest box-office successes in Malayalam cinema.<\/p>\n
However, the film still has a considerable distance to cover to enter the current top five highest-grossing Malayalam films. “Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra” leads the list with \u20b9303.86 crore, followed by “L2: Empuraan” at \u20b9268.05 crore, “Manjummel Boys” at \u20b9241.03 crore, “Thudarum” at \u20b9235.38 crore and “Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros” at \u20b9235.26 crore.<\/p>\n
The film’s performance is even more remarkable when compared to the numbers recorded by Nivin Pauly’s previous hits. “Kayamkulam Kochunni” earned around \u20b970 crore worldwide, while “Premam” collected roughly \u20b973\u201375 crore. “Bangalore Days” crossed \u20b948 crore. “Sarvam Maya” reportedly finished at around \u20b9150\u2013153 crore.<\/p>\n
At \u20b9147.65 crore in only eight days, “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” is already close to surpassing “Sarvam Maya”.
