\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Donald \u201cDoc Stacknick Sr., 75, of Dalton, died August 24, 2026, at Temple Hospital, Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton. he was the son of the late Clement and Betty Broscius Stacknick<\/p>\n
\nDoc was a 1971 graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and, prior to retirement, worked as a Property Manager for twenty-five years for Mr. and Mrs. Peter Freider. He was a beloved member of the Dalton Fire Company for sixty years and was the current Chief. Doc enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and traveling to Canada for fishing trips.<\/p>\n
\nFrom the first call in 1963, responding as a Junior Firefighter running to the station as the siren blew, he accumulated many accolades, positions, and titles: EMT, Firefighter I, LT. CAPT., ASSN. Chief, Chief, a Board of Director, many committee seats, and Life Member. There were just as many behind the scenes activities, as well as early mornings and late nights responding to unthinkable emergencies. Most people dont realize the dedication, commitment, and heart this Tailboard Firefighter has given. For the Brothers and Sisters and their Families in the Fire service, they know. Enough cannot be said about Chief Donald Doc Stacknick. He will be greatly missed on the rest of our journey.<\/p>\n
\nSurviving are his brother Kenneth Stacknick and wife Sue; sister Beverly Shoemaker; brother Ronald Stacknick; sister-in-law Linda Stacknick; stepchildren Sean, Adam, and Chrissy; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
\nHe was preceded in death by his children, Donald \u201cDoc\u201d Stacknick Jr. and Tammy Stacknick; and brother Clement Stacknick. Jr.<\/p>\n
\nA funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the Dalton Fire Company Hall, 109 South Turnpike Road, Dalton, PA 18414. Friends may call at the fire hall from 9 am until 12 pm.<\/p>\n
\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dalton Fire Company.<\/p>\n
\nArrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clarks Summit.<\/p>\n
