<\/p>\nWASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – An ICE detainer was filed against a Venezuelan resident who is in a Pennsylvania jail cell for a hit-and-run that injured a preteen.<\/p>\n

The detainer was lodged against Yorgelis Alexandra Matos-Bravo, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It was alleged she was involved in a hit-and-run Aug. 23 in Charleroi. A young boy was crossing the street when a speeding vehicle hit him and then left the scene. Officials said Matos-Bravo was convinced to return to the scene by family, where she allegedly admitted to hitting the child.<\/p>\n
DHS and ICE<\/a> asked Pennsylvania officials not to release the woman, who was charged by Charleroi police with aggravated assault \u2013 victim less than 13, recklessly endangering another person, accident involving damage to a vehicle or property, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, careless driving,\u00a0and\u00a0speeding<\/p>\n Stay up to date with the latest news in the palm of your hand. She was then released into the country and later issued a driver’s license in Illinois.<\/p>\n
