{"id":275436,"date":"2026-08-30T22:14:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T22:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/275436\/"},"modified":"2026-08-30T22:14:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T22:14:20","slug":"warning-period-begins-monday-for-west-philly-speed-camera-effort-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/275436\/","title":{"rendered":"Warning period begins Monday for West Philly speed camera effort \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 60-day warning period for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/drivers-warned-as-philadelphia-expands-automated-speed-camera-program\/4441276\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/drivers-warned-as-philadelphia-expands-automated-speed-camera-program\/4441276\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">new speed cameras along Route 13 in West Philadelphia<\/a> will begin Monday with ticketing set to begin in October.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, officials said, a 60-day warning period will begin for speed cameras at 11 intersections along Route 13 through West Philly. <\/p>\n<p>During this 60-day period, officials said, drivers who violate the speed cameras will receive warnings in the mail. <\/p>\n<p>However, officials said, come Oct. 30, 2026, drivers traveling 11 m.p.h. over the posted speed limit will be ticketed. <\/p>\n<p>Drivers who are caught traveling 11 to 19 m.p.h. over the speed limit will be slapped with a $100 fine, while officials said, drivers who are caught driving 20 to 29 m.p.h. over posted limits will be hit with $125 fines.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone caught traveling 30 miles an hour, or more, over the posted speed limits, the fines will be $150, officials said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Speed cameras have dramatically reduced speeding along Roosevelt Boulevard by a staggering 95%,&#8221; said Gabe Roberts, Acting Executive Director of the Philadelphia Parking Authority in a statement on the new speed cameras. \u201cOur goal is to continue saving lives and improving public safety on major traffic arteries in the city.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Automated speed enforcement cameras will be stationed at the following locations:<\/p>\n<p>6000 block of Baltimore Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed eastbound and westbound <\/p>\n<p>5600 block of Baltimore Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed eastbound and westbound <\/p>\n<p>4900 block of Baltimore Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed eastbound and westbound <\/p>\n<p>4300 block of Baltimore Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed eastbound<\/p>\n<p>4200 block of Baltimore Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed westbound<\/p>\n<p>300 block of South University Avenue  &#8211; for drivers headed northbound and southbound <\/p>\n<p>200 block of North 38th Street &#8211; for drivers headed northbound and southbound <\/p>\n<p>400 block of North 34th Street &#8211; for drivers headed southbound<\/p>\n<p>3300 block of Girard Avenue &#8211; for drivers headed eastbound and westbound<\/p>\n<p>2000 block of North 33rd Street for drivers headed northbound and southbound<\/p>\n<p>3400 block of Ridge Avenue &#8211;
