The 45th annual Coplay Community Days festival is planned for Aug. 28-30. It kicks off 5 p.m. Aug. 28 and continues from noon to 9 p.m. Aug. 29 and 30.<\/p>\n
It is a celebration of the local cement industry, particularly the former Coplay Cement Company workers. There will be music, an array of foods, dancing, friendship and time to reconnect with friends.<\/p>\n
The Aardvarks will perform 6-10 p.m. Aug. 28. Steel Creek performs noon-4 p.m. Aug. 29, followed by the Castaway Band 6-10 p.m. Josef Kroboth Band performs noon-3 p.m. Aug. 30, followed by South Penn Dixie 6-9 p.m.<\/p>\n

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The Honey Buzzards band performs Aug. 28.<\/p>\n
The September lineup is Social Call Sept. 4, Common Bond Sept. 11, Sons of Izzy Sept. 18 and Stereotype Sept. 25.<\/p>\n
The gate opens 5 p.m., the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m., and the band plays until 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Bring a donation of toiletries to be entered in a special raffle.<\/p>\n
There is a cost, which is discounted if paid in advance.<\/p>\n

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is holding a bingo afternoon Sept. 27. Doors open noon.<\/p>\n
Proceeds benefit the church to help fund 100th anniversary celebration in 2027. More information is coming.<\/p>\n

Mark your calendar: Whitehall Lions Club\u2019s cash bingo is planned for Oct. 4 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St. The jackpot is $200.<\/p>\n
There will be bingo cards and five paper specials. Bingo chips, dabbers and food will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n
There also is a basket social and a 50-25-25 cash drawing.<\/p>\n
All proceeds benefit Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative. Bring a canned or boxed food to donate.<\/p>\n
