At the Ann Marie Simons Classic at Tall Pines Players Club, the Abington Heights senior shot a 5-over-par 75 to win the individual title by one stroke over Honesdale\u2019s Marley Reynolds and help the Lady Comets capture the team title. Moffatt also shot 41 in a win over North Pocono and a 42 in a victory over Scranton Prep.<\/p>\n

At the Simons Classic, you had a triple-bogey 7 on hole No. 8. How did you overcome that?: It definitely was disappointing, but it wasn\u2019t a huge setback to me. It\u2019s happened before, like at districts the previous year how I shot a 10 on a hole. It felt like that. I overcame it at districts and at the Simons I knew I could overcome it there.<\/p>\n
You had a birdie on No. 11. How did that get you back on track?: In my head, I was definitely like, \u2018OK I got a stroke back.\u2019 It was very uplifting and made me happy. I was, \u2018OK, I\u2019m back in this, let\u2019s keep going and finish this.\u2019<\/p>\n
You parred your final three holes to keep a one-shot lead. Did you know the score that Honesdale\u2019s Marley Reynolds had?: Honestly, I had no idea. I would prefer not knowing. It\u2019s less stress on me. If I know it, I\u2019m going to be like, \u2018OK I have to do this, this and this\u2019 and then I\u2019m going to get tense and something is going to go wrong.<\/p>\n
Describe your par on hole No. 18 that sealed the victory: I had not a great chip onto the green; I put it probably 10, 12 feet past the hole. Going up for the putt, I was reading the green and all the sudden I hear everybody behind me go silent. So I knew it was a big putt. I just kept my head down and did what I always do. I stuck to my routine and made the putt.<\/p>\n
What does it mean to you to win the Simons Classic?: It means a lot to me, knowing that I placed the past three years I played it. It\u2019s building my confidence for the season, knowing I can shoot those scores going into new competitions.<\/p>\n
Talk about how well the team has started this season: I\u2019m extremely proud of how the team has come together this year. We\u2019ve shown a lot of growth and all worked very hard over the summer for the season. We all pick each other up, no matter if it\u2019s a good day, bad day, we\u2019re always there. The van rides help because we\u2019re always talking and laughing. It\u2019s a stress-free environment.<\/p>\n
Goals for the rest of the season: Honestly, I just want to go out and shoot my best. I want to walk away from every match knowing I kept my tempo, kept my head up, did my best and left it all on the course.<\/p>\n
You qualified for the PIAA Championships last season. What was that experience like?: It was really cool, knowing I only picked up a club two weeks before my freshman year. I never thought I would make it that far. Knowing I did, it was a huge accomplishment to me.<\/p>\n
What made you decide to play golf?: I played softball my whole life and honestly, that\u2019s what I thought I\u2019d still be doing. But my dad said why don\u2019t you try it and see. Go out for fun and if you like it, great, keep playing. If not, whatever, you can play just to have fun. I picked up those clubs and after my freshman season, I was like, \u2018Dad, I want to keep doing this. I love the game and my teammates were great, the seniors who were there at the time. I love this environment, I want to keep going. I want to keep pushing and do better.\u2019<\/p>\n
If you could play any course, which would it be?: Cypress Hill in California. It\u2019s close to Pebble Beach and kind of the same layout, but it\u2019s closer to home where I (used to live) there. It\u2019s just a beautiful course. I\u2019ve seen it all over Instagram, Instareels that I watch. I would love to have a chance to play there.<\/p>\n
Favorite teams: For major league, I definitely love the Los Angeles Dodgers. I also like to root for UCLA.<\/p>\n
Favorite food: Steak tacos<\/p>\n
Cake or pie: Honestly, both. I have a very strong sweet tooth.<\/p>\n
Favorite school subject: I really enjoyed anatomy. My teacher has animals in her classroom \u2014 fish, turtles and she did bring in a snake one day, which I was not a fan of. We learned about them. It was a different subject every week and it was really fascinating to me.<\/p>\n
Athletes I admire: Me and my mom both love Montana Fouts. She\u2019s a softball player that we follow because she believes the sport you play doesn\u2019t define yourself.<\/p>\n
Superstitions and rituals: I have my lucky black Bad Birdie hat that I wear for every match and tournament.<\/p>\n
If I could have any superpower, it would be: Definitely teleportation.<\/p>\n
One word to best describe me: Sarcastic<\/p>\n

Three people I would like to have dinner with: Kevin Hart, John Daly, Nelly Korda<\/p>\n
Post-graduation plans: I\u2019ve gone on college visits, I\u2019ve reached out to coaches, I\u2019ve had conversations. I definitely have my favorite, but nothing is set in stone yet. Hopefully, it will be soon. And for the future, I\u2019m starting to look into nursing. There\u2019s so many different paths you can take.
