{"id":276464,"date":"2026-09-01T12:08:49","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T12:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/276464\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T12:08:49","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T12:08:49","slug":"chobani-to-invest-1-2-billion-in-allentown-and-hire-900-pennsylvania-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/276464\/","title":{"rendered":"Chobani to invest $1.2 billion in Allentown and hire 900 Pennsylvania employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listen to article \u2022\u00a00:00 min<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Chobani, the yogurt company, is expected to announce a $1.2 billion investment in Pennsylvania on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The company, which bought Philly-founded La Colombe <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/business\/chobani-buys-la-colombe-20231215.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/business\/chobani-buys-la-colombe-20231215.html\">in 2023 for $900 million<\/a>, plans to take over an Allentown manufacturing facility from Keurig Dr Pepper. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Chobani will convert the 1.5-million-square-foot site into a dairy plant, and expects to hire 900 workers over the next five years in the Lehigh Valley. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">\u201cWe\u2019re so happy to be here bringing our future innovation to life in Allentown, made with fresh Pennsylvania milk and delivered to families across the country,\u201d Hamdi Ulukaya, founder and CEO of Chobani, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The yogurt business got its start in 2005 with a facility in upstate New York, and produces yogurts, creamers and oat milk. Chobani will \u201cmanufacture innovative food products beyond yogurt,\u201d at the new Allentown site, located at 7356 Industrial Blvd. in Upper Macungie Township, according to a press release from Gov. <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/josh-shapiro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Shapiro<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">When the facility is up and running, Chobani expects to process more than three billion pounds of milk each year from the state \u2013 roughly 30% of what Pennsylvania currently produces annually.
