Severe storms that could bring damaging winds are possible over the next few days in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n
The entire region, as well as nearby Bucks, Berks, Carbon and Monroe counties, are at a slight risk of severe weather Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.<\/p>\n
There could be isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms that could bring damaging winds and hail on Tuesday night. A tornado can not be ruled out, forecasters said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTiming for severe thunderstorms appears to be mainly between about 5 p.m. and midnight tonight, though cannot totally rule out an isolated storm popping up before that time frame,\u201d meteorologists wrote Tuesday in their daily forecast discussion.<\/a><\/p>\n Storms could quickly drop between 1 and 3 inches of rain, which could pose a flash flooding threat for urban areas and any other areas that may have received excessive rain over the past few days, the weather service said.<\/p>\n In addition to storms, hot and humid conditions are likely Tuesday and Thursday. The heat index will be about 97 Tuesday in the Lehigh Valley.
