{"id":277324,"date":"2026-09-02T13:14:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T13:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/277324\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T13:14:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T13:14:22","slug":"board-receives-update-on-parkland-high-school-project-lehigh-valley-press","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/277324\/","title":{"rendered":"Board receives update on Parkland High School project \u2013 Lehigh Valley Press"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Published August 28. 2026 09:16AM<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body\">A major construction and renovation project at Parkland High School remains below its original budget estimate, district officials reported during the Aug. 18 school board meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body\">Arthur Oakes, the district\u2019s director of facilities and operations, said current construction costs are estimated at $49.9 million, compared with the original projection of $51.7 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body\">Including soft costs and highway occupancy work, the total project cost is estimated at $63 million, down from the original estimate of $64.1 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body\">Oakes said the district recently learned that a 24-inch sewer line installed when the school was built must be replaced with a required 30-inch line.
