{"id":277336,"date":"2026-09-02T13:40:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T13:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/277336\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T13:40:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T13:40:08","slug":"vehicle-crashes-into-gas-station-near-kennywood-park-route-837-shut-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/277336\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle crashes into gas station near Kennywood Park, Route 837 shut down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A heavy police, fire, and medical presence is on the scene of a crash into a building near Kennywood Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The crash happened just off the Rankin Bridge in Whitaker Borough at the Gulf gas station, also known as Bob&#8217;s Autotorium.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/rankincarintobuilding.png#.png\" alt=\"rankincarintobuilding.png \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  A car slammed into Bob&#8217;s Autotorium early on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>                Megan Shinn\/KDKA-TV<\/p>\n<p>Dispatch told KDKA-TV that the call came in just before 6 a.m., and multiple first responder units are on the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not known at this time if anyone was injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time a vehicle has slammed into the gas station just off the Rankin Bridge. In 2021, the owner, Bob Ackerman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/whitaker-borough-gas-station-rankin-bridge\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told KDKA-TV<\/a> that nine vehicles had crashed into his business in a span of six years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The speed limit on the bridge is 25 mph; no one goes 25 mph. If they would even maintain 35 mph, it would be OK.
