University of Scranton President\u00a0Rev. Joseph G. Marina, S.J.,\u00a0announced an administrative reorganization on Wednesday, Sept. 2, designed to support the University\u2019s strategic priorities and position the institution for continued success.<\/p>\n
As part of the reorganization,\u00a0Robert W. Davis Jr., Ed.D., \u201903 G’10 G’13,\u00a0will be appointed Executive Vice President, effective Sept. 4.\u00a0In Dr.\u00a0Davis\u2019\u00a0new role, the following divisional leaders will report to him:\u00a0Elizabeth M. Garcia, Esq.,\u00a0Associate Vice President for the Office of Institutional Compliance and Title IX;\u00a0Stephen Hietsch, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration; and\u00a0Patricia L. Tetreault \u201993 G’00,\u00a0Vice President for Human Resources.\u00a0They will remain members of the President\u2019s Cabinet.\u00a0Dr. Davis, who has served since 2022 as Vice President for Advancement, will continue to lead Advancement and serve as\u00a0the Athletics Direct Report.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past two decades, Bobby has brought dedication, imagination and a very impressive work ethic to every role in which he has served,\u201d Fr. Marina said in a letter to the University community. \u201cHis experience leading our Student Life, Athletics and Advancement teams\u00a0and serving as Chief of Staff for three presidents has given him a highly comprehensive understanding of the University. Along the way, he worked hard to improve his knowledge of higher education, earning a Doctor of Education Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n
The following members of the President\u2019s Cabinet will continue to report directly to Fr. Marina:\u00a0Daniel Cosacchi, Ph.D.,\u00a0Vice President for Mission and Ministry;\u00a0Robert B. Farrell, J.D., Ed.D.,\u00a0General Counsel;\u00a0Lauren S. Rivera, J.D., M.Ed.,\u00a0Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students;\u00a0Gerald C. Zaboski \u201987 G\u201995,\u00a0Senior Vice President for the Office of the President;\u00a0WeiDong\u00a0Zhu, Ph.D.,\u00a0Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; and\u00a0Shannon Zottola,\u00a0Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaking this change will allow me to focus even more time on ensuring the success of our Strategic Plan and Strategic Enrollment Management Plan,\u201d Fr. Marina said. \u201cIt will free me up for more fundraising and for building community, both internally and externally.\u201d<\/p>\n
Having earned bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s and MBA degrees from The University of Scranton, Dr.\u00a0Davis brings more than 20 years of experience in student life, athletics,\u00a0advancement\u00a0and\u00a0executive\u00a0administration, along with a deep commitment to the University\u2019s Catholic and Jesuit mission.\u00a0As Vice President for Advancement, he\u00a0provided overall leadership for\u00a0\u201cA Fire That Kindles Other Fires Campaign to Advance Mission,\u00a0Access\u00a0and Excellence,\u201d\u00a0the largest capital campaign in University history<\/a>, which exceeded its goal by a wide margin and raised $155.7 million.<\/p>\n
