L. SAUCON TWP., Pa. – A member of Lower Saucon Township Council in Northampton County is stepping down.<\/p>\n
Priscilla deLeon, in a Facebook post, said she is resigning effective Sept. 15.<\/p>\n
She had announced the news at Wednesday night’s board meeting. She did not give a reason for the resignation.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, the township solicitor said\u00a0council would have to wait until the next meeting to\u00a0formally accept her resignation, along with discussion about how to fill the vacancy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been an honor to serve the residents of Lower Saucon Township for the past 38 years,\u201d deLeon said in the resignation letter, which was included in her\u00a0Facebook post.<\/p>\n
She said that since 1988, she has exercised sustained oversight of landfill regulatory matters, including review of host\u2011community agreements, amendments, DEP submissions, operational changes, and compliance obligations.<\/p>\n
She said she\u2019s advanced environmental protections through support of groundwater monitoring requirements, long\u2011term environmental impact evaluations, and measures designed to safeguard public health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"L.
