Fox News Media has parted ways with politically influential financial journalist Maria Bartiromo after more than a decade, the company announced Thursday hours after Fox Business Network aired the final episode of the show that bears her name. The company did not specify the reasons for her separation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank Maria for her work over the last 12\u00bd years,\u201d a Fox statement read, \u201cand wish her all the best on her next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n
There was no immediate reaction from Bartiromo. Her X account still showed a banner photo Thursday afternoon encouraging people to \u201cgrab yourself a cup of coffee, and join us every morning for Mornings With Maria.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other high-profile, on-air personalities that have left Fox News Media in recent years include Tucker Carlson and Bill O\u2019Reilly. Former Fox personality Pete Hegseth left the network in 2024 after being nominated as President Donald Trump’s secretary of defense.<\/p>\n
Bartiromo hosted \u201cMornings with Maria\u201d on Fox Business Network, the last episode of which aired Thursday morning, as well as \u201cMaria Bartiromo’s Wall Street.\u201d<\/p>\n
The first show will be renamed \u201cMornings with Fox Business\u201d and will feature rotating anchors, the company said in its statement. The second will be renamed \u201cFBN’s Wall Street\u201d and will also use rotating anchors. Additionally, Bartiromo\u2019s weekly Fox News show \u201cSunday Morning Futures\u201d will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz for the time being.<\/p>\n
Bartiromo has frequently earned praise from Trump, who has granted her multiple interviews over the years. He has called her a \u201cgreat reporter.\u201d Vice President JD Vance, talking with reporters Thursday afternoon, was asked about her departure but said he had not talked to her and didn’t know the back story.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent,” Vance said. \u201cWhatever she does, she’s gonna do great, and I wish her all the best. She’s a very, very dear friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2025, a lawsuit<\/a> against Fox News by voting technology company Smartmatic alleged that Bartiromo spread false rumors about claims of election fraud on the air \u2014 a notion she had vehemently rejected.<\/p>\n Bartiromo had said before an earlier lawsuit<\/a> involving Fox and Dominion Voting Systems that it\u2019s \u201cabsurd\u201d to think that she personally lobbied former Attorney General William Barr to aggressively investigate Trump\u2019s charges of voter fraud during the 2020 election. Instead, she said she was doing a journalist\u2019s job in asking follow-up questions. That case was settled in 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n Before Fox, Bartiromo worked for CNBC for 20 years as a financial journalist. Previously to that, she worked for CNN.
