An Allentown man faces felony charges in a sexual assault in Lower Macungie Township in March in which the teenage victim had to undergo surgery for her injuries, according to a press release from the office of the Lehigh County District Attorney.<\/p>\n
Javier Santos-Rivera, 41, was charged Aug. 19 with \u201cfelony charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated assault \u2014 attempts to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme indifference and sexual assault; and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, indecent assault without consent of other and intimidate witness or victim \u2014 refrain from report,\u201d according to a press release dated Aug. 24.<\/p>\n
Authorities outlined the case as follows:<\/p>\n
At approximately 7:17 a.m. March 21, Pennsylvania State Police investigators were called to a hospital for a 19-year-old female concerning a sexual assault at a hotel in Lower Macungie Township.<\/p>\n
Investigators determined a private vehicle registered to Santos-Rivera was used to drop off the female at the hospital\u2019s emergency room entrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim told investigators she had a relationship with Santos-Rivera and the day of the sexual assault they went out to dinner before returning to the Lower Macungie Township hotel room,\u201d according to authorities.<\/p>\n
Santos-Rivera allegedly \u201cbegan to bite the victim in her genitals\u201d during consensual sex.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim told police she was screaming out in pain and told Santos-Rivera to stop, but he continued for several minutes and restrained her with his wrists and waist,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim was injured so severely after the attack, she could not walk nor put on her clothes due to swelling and pain due to the injuries she suffered,\u201d the release continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe said the defendant put his coat on her and carried her to his car and dropped her off at the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
Surgery was necessary due to the severity of the injuries, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
