{"id":278784,"date":"2026-09-04T07:44:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T07:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/278784\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T07:44:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T07:44:09","slug":"nearly-125k-power-outages-reported-amid-severe-storms-in-western-pennsylvania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/278784\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 125K power outages reported amid severe storms in Western Pennsylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Nearly 125,000 power outages have been reported to local electrical companies as a wave of severe storms passes through.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Duquesne Light Company reports a total of 60,390 power outages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">At this time, 57,101 of those were in Allegheny County, 3,299 power outages were reported in Beaver County and 19 were reported in Westmoreland County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/duquesnelight.com\/outages-safety\/report-outage\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/duquesnelight.com\/outages-safety\/report-outage\">Click here to report a power outage to Duquesne Light Company.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">West Penn Power reported 96,956 outages in all of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Those outages were listed as follows: <\/p>\n<p>Allegheny County &#8211; 5,883Armstrong County &#8211; 280Beaver County &#8211; 570Butler County &#8211; 629Fayette County &#8211; 1,221Indiana County &#8211; 85Lawrence County &#8211; 969Mercer County &#8211; 747Washington County &#8211; 7,546Westmoreland County &#8211; 46,590<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstenergycorp.com\/content\/customer\/outages_help\/Report_Power_Outages.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.firstenergycorp.com\/content\/customer\/outages_help\/Report_Power_Outages.html\">Click here to report a power outage to West Penn Power.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Duquesne Light issued a reminder for people to avoid downed power lines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cOur crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power after storms caused widespread damage throughout the region tonight.
