The Community Blood Bank has restored power following the late-night storm on Wednesday. Now, they are urging eligible donors to give blood as the local blood supply faces a continued need.<\/p>\n
Following the storm donations decreased and demand for blood donation was high overnight.<\/p>\n
In observance of Labor Day the Community Blood Bank will be closed on Monday. Due to the additional gap in opportunities to donate they will be open early and have extended hours on Tuesday. The location at 2646 Peach Street will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and donors who give blood will receive a $25 gift card.<\/p>\n
Donors are needed immediately and encourage eligible donors to donate as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cTuesday\u2019s extended hours are an opportunity to help us rebuild the supply after the holiday, but if you are able to donate today or tomorrow, please don\u2019t wait,\u201d said Megan Solensky, Communications Manager at the Community Blood Bank. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen a critical need across the country this summer, and our need for donors is immediate.\u201d<\/p>\n
