NEWSTEAD, N.Y. \u2014 A Rochester woman is dead and a Rochester man is in the hospital after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-90 in Erie County.<\/p>\n
It happened at around 2:30 a.m. Friday on the Thruway in the Town of Newstead. State Police say a tractor-trailer heading west collided with a pickup truck that was on the right shoulder. <\/p>\n
The driver of the pickup truck, Olive Wesley, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the truck, Eric Trone, 62, of Rochester, was brought to the Erie County Medical Center. State Police say Trone is in serious condition, but is expected to survive. <\/p>\n
The driver of the tractor-trailer, from Belleville, Ontario, was evaluated at the scene with no reported injuries and was administered standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated no signs of impairment.<\/p>\n
The investigation into the crash remains open. <\/p>\n
